INTERESTING HEADLINES NEWS
Today ( 6th Sept 2014) we read interesting headlines news one in Navhind Times and other in Times of India. The news pertaining to the mining loans came from Navhind Times and for undertrial prisoners was on Times of India. The Navhind Times has given a title “ RBI rejects state Govt. proposal to partially write off mining loans” and the reasons given is that RBI has no criteria in their rule book, but the state could very well take the liberty to use the money after auctioning of the iron ore dumps to pay the dues to the banks. And the headline on Times of India is “SC sets two month deadline to free long jailed undertrials”. That means today we have good news as well as bad news. Good news is for the prisoners who had spent half of their sentence in jails has been given a relief by SC to release on personal bonds and the bad news is for those who have taken loans on purchase of trucks, barges and machinery etc, the Reserve Bank of India rejects the proposal from the Parrikar Government. Today in our Goan families those who fall in these categories some have to cry and others will smile. Stephen Dias D.Paula
