Canada set a good example a few years ago giving in to Quebec's vocal 
separatists' strident demands for separation from the country. The referendum 
that was held, resulted in a NO vote to breaking off from Canada.

Britain has also wisely allowed Scotland to express its desire for separating 
from Britain by a referendum this month.

When will so called democratic India allow the Kashmiris to decide their fate 
in a similar manner. Of course we all know the holy cows of anti-referendum:
India cannot let a part of itself be truncated.
Other states will also demand the same right of expression.
Pakistan will become stronger et al.

These are all hollow arguments that bring out the ghosts of giving away 
something you own. They forget it was never theirs in the first place.
