Dear reader Today we have two news related to the Lusophone Society of Goa (LSG) that we'd like to highlight. The first refers to a visit to Goa of the Commission of Economy and Development of the National Parliament of East Timor which was completed successfully. The visit was without doubt a milestone in the relations between East Timor and Goa/India re-establishing the existing special historical relations. At the end of the visit the Commission of Economy and Development of the National Parliament of East Timor and Lusophone Society of Goa (LSG) agreed to create a joint committee Goa-East Timor with representatives of both parties. This joint committee should coordinate the exchange of information, contacts and subsequent projects between Goa and Timor-Leste. The exhibition consisted of 61 photographs dated between 1880 and 1895 and belonging to the Portuguese family Mascarenhas Gaivão, which collected them, as if they were consistent with a portuguese journey. The trip begins in Egypt, continues in India (Mumbai, Daman, Nagar Haveli and Goa) and ends in East Timor. The images of former Portuguese State of India were of especially interesting to us. The pleasant conversation we had with the curator of the exhibition José Pessoa coached us on some interesting aspects of this exhibition.
