India took the shoot-out route to clinch the gold medal in the Asian Games over traditional rivals, Pakistan. It was an interesting match and reminded of the clashes the two had in the past, though both team met in the league stage with Pakistan putting across a determined India, 2-1. In the final, India played a tough game, relying on attack though conceding a goal from Pakistan's breakaway move. India's equaliser came just before half-time, a neat goal. Goalkeeper Sreejesh was superb in the shoot-out, rushing out well to foil the Pakistanis. He more than anyone else deserves credit for giving India the win and take India back into the top. India gets direct entry for the Rio Olympcs in 2016. Chak de India in fact. Maybe it will lead to a long road to glory days.
