The term is used to refer to people or things of South Asian origin. If used in this sense, it can include: * People of South Asian origins (from one of the South Asian countries: India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Maldive) * British Asians * South Asian Americans * South Asians living in Canada * South Asians living in Australia * Indian South Africans * South Asians living in Zimbabwe * Sometimes, people of Indian origin only * In India, the term, used as an adjective, can also refer to things originating from the countryside, or Indian-made goods as opposed to foreign or imported goods. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raag Rāga (rāg /राग (Hindi), raga (anglicised from rāgaḥ/रागः (Sanskrit)) or rāgam (Carnatic music)) refers to melodic modes used in Indian classical music. "Raag" is the modern Hindi pronunciation used by Hindustani musicians; "Ragam" the form used by Carnatic musicians. Indian classical music is always set in raga. Non-classical music such as popular Indian film songs sometimes utilise ragas in their compositions. -- FN M: 0091 9822122436 P: +91-832-240-9490 (after 1300IST please) http://fn.goa-india.org http://fredericknoronha.wordpress.com What bloggers are saying about Goa: http://planet.goa-india.org/
