Don't worry about Canadians. We are a tough lot.

Almost every Goan living in Canada, at one time or another, has traveled to Ottawa and stood in the very spot where Cpl. Nathan Cirillo was shot at the National War Memorial. They likely have also walked to Parliament Hill on the very street, through the same gates, up the paths, up the steps of the Centre Block building. They have walked down the very hall where the assailant way stopped, to line up for a public tour of the House of Commons.

I've done it may times. I will do again, as I do almost every summer.
There will be added security. Sure. But it will not be a huge inconvenience.

In Canada, Parliament will remain an institution that is both open and
secure. Its as simple as that.

There are many reservist and solders of Goan heritage who have marched
in parades of remembrance or done duty in front of monuments across the
world.

I know of one soldier who migrated to New Zealand from Goa as a child. He was honoured to being chosen to represent his new country at the ANZAK Day dawn ceremony in front of the Australian War Memorial.

That's pretty damn amazing.
