The roads across Goa are in an appalling state. Potholes and craters are galore. It will soon be Christmas and one wonders whether the government is waiting for the eve of next monsoon to hot-mix the roads.
A portion of the 380-year-old Ribandar – Panaji causeway which is the longest bridge in Asia, is in a very wobbly state with so many fatal deaths there already. The Panaji-Mapusa road is also a bumpy affair despite the former Chief Minister and now Laxmikant Parsekar travelling on it every day. Lack of funds cannot be an excuse as this government has been freely squandering money on unnecessary and needless extravaganza.
