A complaint has been filed with the Election Commission of India against Mr. Siddharth Kunkolienkar for indulging in political party activity despite being a government servant.
The attention of the Chief Election Commissioner has been drawn that Siddharth Kunkolienkar is currently occupying the post of Joint Secretary in the office of the Chief Minister of Goa and is being paid a monthly salary by the State Exchequer. Despite being a government servant in rank violation of law Siddharth Kunkolienkar is actively taking part in political party activity with having shared the dais at the function organised at Panaji by the Goa Unit of BJP to launch its membership drive. Siddharth Kunkolienkar was also seen along with former MLA of Panaji Manohar Parrikar going house to house in that membership drive. Siddharth Kunkolienkar who reportedly is the probable BJP candidate for the ensuing by-election to the Panaji Assembly Constituency is already misusing the official government machinery for political campaigning while he continues as a government servant. A copy of the complaint has been sent to the Panaji Police Inspector seeking that an F.I.R be registered against Siddharth Kunkolienkar as his acts amounted to cheating the State exchequer which is an offence under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code. One has to cease being a government servant to participate in political party activity. You cannot have the cake and eat it too.
