Died 11th Oct 1963 Placassier, Alpes Maritimes France.
Nicknamed La Mome Piaf (Kid Sparrow) also “The French Billie Holiday”
Daughter of street performers. Mother a singer, abandoned both Piaf & her father
for a solo career.Piaf spent her youth entertaining passersby, receiving little
formal education in the process.
Sadly,died in poverty @ 47 after a brilliant career.
Piaf remains the epitome of the French singer in heart, soul, style & passion.
