NEW KONKANI ALBUM IN KUWAIT

Renowned Konkani Playwright, Director, Singer and composer Rosary Ferns from Colva and a resident of Kuwait during last so many years has successfully completed his 13th Konkani Album in the form of CD and Audio Cassette and it will be released in Kuwait on Thursday 29th of March 2007.

The Album “MOG – VISVAS – SOSNIKAI” (LOVE – TRUST – PATIENCE) consists of 10 songs beautifully rendered by the well-known singers namely Prince Jacob, Naphie Rod, Antonette de Calangute, Roshan, Veeam Bond Braganza, Babli, Bab Agnelo, Peter de Benaulim, Sanny de Quepem and Rosary Ferns himself. It is a feast of songs and all are new ones as indicated below:

1. Title song Mog Visvas Sosnikai is a solo by Rosary Ferns. In this song the singer describes the importance of these three words for the success of married life.

2. Solo song titled “Kuwait” by the sweet voiced Naphie Rod known as Nightingale of Konkani Stage is a romantic solo.

3. Duet “Uni ani Dher” by Peter – Roshan is a song where Uni craves for the love of Dher.

4. Solo “Ayah” by Sanny de Quepem describes the origin of Ayah and her difficult and important task in society (lyrics by Sanny only)

5. Solo “Utor” by Rosary Ferns. In this solo the singer describes the ill effects of those who fail to maintain their promises.

6. Solo “Chotur Ravat” by Bab Agnelo who advises us to be careful in life.

7. Duo “Bhuk” by Rosary Ferns and Antonette de Calangute. In this duo they tell us how because of hunger man goes to any length.

8. Solo “Ostori” by Veeam Bond Braganza. It is again another Nightingale of Konkani Stage with her sweet voice describes the different important stages of a female.

9. Solo “Flight” by Prince Jacob. It is a comedy song on the recently introduced flight Al Jazeera.

10. Solo “ Tevis Vorsam” by Babli. In fact it is a Mando beautifully rendered by Babli with her majestic voice and Rosary Ferns renders “Segundo” voice to give a touch of Mando.

The musical score for this Album is provided by Maestro Josinho D’Souza from Velim. Maestro Josinho because of his gift of providing beautiful music is become the darling of most of the Konkani Album producers. Even top Tiatrists and directors seek his music for their Tiatros. Even in Kuwait he is very much sought after. Besides providing music for Tiatro and Konkani Albums he is a full time Mestiri in his village Church and as a human being, a very soft spoken man and highly respected in society.

This Album is produced by Music House – Mapusa, Bardez, Goa. It will be simultaneously released in Kuwait, London, USA and of course in Goa. From Friday 30th onwards, it will be on sale in Kuwait.

Rosary Ferns requests the Konkani music lovers to buy the original Album only and not the 'duplicated' ones available cheaply with cheap sellers in Kuwait City.

As a matter of interest, Rosary Ferns has so far released his 12 Konkani Albums and 2 VCD’s.

Rosary Ferns has got the unique distinction of producing the first Konkani CD.

1. Chuck Konnachi which was released in Bahrain where Rosary Ferns was especially invited for the release. It was in February 1990.

Besides these, Rosary Ferns has also produced and released 2 Konkani VCD’s - “Kanvllo Roddlo Lozen” in 2004 and “Mogan Tujea Lasota” in 2007. The first ever Konkani CD “Golden Memories of Rosary Ferns" is available in the local market in Kuwait.
