CCP SLAMPS DOOR ON 330 STRIKING WORKERS BY STEPHEN DIAS,D.PAULA
Questions: 1) Why a peaceful assembly by workers is denied by the police at Azad Maidan? Is this not a democracy? 2) Why other gatherings or any functions of political or private are allowed at Azad Maidan in that case? 3) Union Leader Ajit Singh Rane has full right to give support to any workers who are peacefully asking for their demands? 4) Why the workers need to be sacked? Who will give them food for these daily wages contract employees? CCP has made arrangements to lift the garbage accumulated in the city and it is appreciated, but not necessarily that these workers to be sacked. Find out some other solution. 5) With new workers on the job, is there any guarantee that the garbage will be lifted at 100 % as CCP has no road map of housing where the agitated workers were lifting door to door garbage? That means some of the houses may not be lifted garbage at all. Again the worst condition may arise and every time CCP will take drastic action to sack them and get another set of workers? 6) CCP says that they will provide diesel, petrol, drivers, trucks etc for these new contingent of workers and if this misfires on corruption charges etc how this will be tolerated? 7) CCP should prepare at least a future road map so that some house garbage are not left out. 8) This new approach by CCP will not be helpful in a long run and will certainly misfire the plans. What will these agitate workers will do now? Who will feed them at home? Will Govt make an special scheme for them like what Parrikar did for women Ladhi scheme and many other schemes at the cost of exchequer? 9) Panjimites are happy that at least Mayor and Commissioner have made a peace among themselves, one belonging for Congress and another for BJP, so that many incomplete projects will start going through especially the sewage, parking and bad roads in the city.
