I am most happy to share with you exceptionally good news on the New Year. Goa Center for Alternative Photography (http://goa-cap.us4.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=d13487bc4ab5801e65b4c5ecb&id=0606c46180&e=815534e5c8) is now a proud custodian of one of the world’s best Cinelab – Kodak Cine labs. The iconic Kodak Cine Labs in Mumbai, India which had once processed some of India’s finest films, shot on 16 & 35mm color film negative, in addition to portions of Hollywood films like The Dark Knight and Slum Dog Millionaire, was shut down on 1st November 2014 and all equipment was donated to Goa Center for Alternative Photography for converting it into a Cooperative Cinelab. We have named this initiative as “The Celluloid Project” We have successfully dismantled the entire plant and shifted it to Goa. We are committed to revive and activate this lab very soon. We thank Kodak for its generosity in donating us the equipment, which we have successfully moved from Mumbai to Goa. We thank all our supporters and donors who believed in us and in ’Film’. Without them we wouldn’t have achieved this arduous task of acquiring and shifting the equipment within ten days. We hope you all will continue to share your support as we enter the next phase of restoring the lab facility. All the artists, film makers and film lovers….Let us raise a big toast to our first step towards making history, ‘Long Live Film!’ Pa.
