*Bengaluru move into Fed Cup final*
Bengaluru FC overcame Sporting Clube de Goa 3-0 in the 36th Federation Cup semi-final organised by the AIFF at PJN Stadium, Fatorda, on Friday. Bengaluru led 2-0 at the interval. It was Sporting Goa who had first look at the goal when defender Kofi Dankwae got into a good position for a corner and flashed an instinctive shot at goal, but the Bengaluru custodian pulled of a fantastic save to deny him. As the game progressed, Bengaluru managed to surge ahead when Sean Rooney got on the end of a dangerous low cross to tap into an empty net. Before the break Bengaluru Captain Sunil Chhetri doubled the lead when he crept in the box to fire into the roof of the net. On the other side of the break, Anthony Wolfe came ever so close to pulling a goal back when his teasing shot from outside the box rebounded back of the post. In the closing stages as Sporting Goa committed men forward, substitute Robin Singh broke away and slipped the ball in for Eugenson Lyngdoh to tuck home Bengaluru’s third.
