Two days Tribal Festival at Quepem

Christian Adivasi Sangatna Quepem in coordination with Directorate of Art and 
Culture  is organising a two days Tribal Festival on 17th and 18th of January 
2015 at Copelabhat, Ambaulim Quepem  Football ground in which different 
traditional programme will be held. 
The inauguration of the Festival will be held on 17th January, 2015 at 3.00PM 
at the hands of Quepem  MLA Shri Chandrakant (Babu) Kavlekar  in presence of 
Cuncolim MLA Shri Rajan Naik, Director of Tribal Welfare Smt. Sandya Kamat, 
Historian Shri Prajal Sakhardande and Social Worker Shri Camilo Barreto. The 
Annual Sovenier Amcho Ekvott will be released on that day at the hands of the 
guest. 
The inauguration of the Festival  will be followed by inauguration of different 
traditional item making competition such as Making of  Mol’la, Broom, Nivoni, 
Dhayi and Fula Fatti. The competition of Traditional games such as Chanteani, 
Logoreani, tug of war, breaking the pot  and Tonn-Barani will also be held. 
There will be different traditional stalls such as displaying of traditional 
Kapddam, Preparing of Fov, Ambil, Pitta Gulliyo, Donne, Fole,  Sanna, Soji etc. 
That in the evening there will be a traditional Musical shown called “Intrumez” 
which will be presented by Niz Kalakar Ambaulim, which will be inaugurated by 
Curchorem MLA and GTDC Chairman Shri Nilesh Cabral in presence of QMC Vice 
Chairman Shri Mateus Camilo Simoes and Social Worker Anthony Vas. 
On 18th morning there will be a blood donation Camp which will start  at 9.00AM 
 and the same  will be inaugurated by Shri Shirish Lawande, Nehru Yuva Kendra 
South Goa  Youth Co-ordinator,  in presence of CCMC Chief Officer Shri Agnelo 
Fernandes and Village Priest Fr. Ubaldo Fernandes in which around 35 volunteers 
will be donating  their blood which will be held in the premises of  Ambaulim 
Church. At the Festival vanue there will be a Tribal oral History recording 
programme. 
In the evening at 1.30PM there will be traditional saree wearing competition 
for ladies below 40 years which will followed by inauguration of  Lok Utsav  at 
the hands of  South Goa MP Shri Shri Narendra Savoikar in presence of Fr. Mozin 
Atayet, Writer Shri Vincy Quadros and Z.P. member Maria Miranda. 
For the closing ceremony which will be held at 5.30PM MLA St. Andre 
Constituency Shri Vishnu Surya Wagh will be the chief guest while Sanguem MLA 
Shri Suchash Fal Dessai will be guest of Honour and Cultural Artist Milan 
Vaigankar and Shri Joaquim Cruz will the special invitees.
