Finally some sense and wisdom has dawned on South Goa Member of Parliament Narendra Sawaikar. He has stopped violating the law by removing that red beacon he was illegally and high-handedly misusing on his official vehicle in rank violation of the Supreme Court order.
Before he could be booked and prosecuted by the authorities, Narendra Sawaikar has himself stopped flashing the red beacon on his official vehicle GA-03-G-1569. It may be difficult for Narendra Sawaikar to now have to reconcile without that red beacon he has been fascinated with for so long but he should realize that as a law maker he was acting in clear defiance of law and in gross contempt of the Supreme Court. Infact he has been illegally using that red beacon since March 2012 after Manohar Parrikar politically rehabilitated him with a position as Chairman of the Goa Law Commission. Advocate Narendra Sawaikar owes an apology to the people of Goa for knowingly and intentionally flouting the law in high-handedly using a perk he was not entitled to. As Member of Parliament he should be now content that he at least has an official vehicle at tax payer’s expense, a privilege an MP did not enjoy some years ago.
