As part of my social commitment and responsibility to help people unearth corruption, nepotism and expose bad governance through the Right to Information Act, starting 24th January will hold a free RTI clinic at my office every Saturday from 8 am to 10 am to assist people in drafting their RTI applications. As most Public Information Officers try to find every excuse possible to reject an RTI application, it is very vital that the application is rightly and accurately worded. In Goa where the current rampant corruption and nepotism is an endemic problem at all levels, the RTI Act can empower people to enforce accountability and transparency in the functioning of the government and every public authority. RTI has to be an aggressive people’s movement. Let it be our weapon guiding our path to make Goa a better place.
