I too absolutely agree with the VIP syndrome. It needs to get it out from
our Goan culture. In fact when I happened to go around the Carnival parade
area I saw the VIP board near the Secretariat and all
their politicians wives, children and relatives seating at this box and
watching the floats.Locals could not see the floats because of bad
arrangement by the Govt and the police was very bad at the venue with no
law and order.
. AAP must react into this and see that the VIP culture must get away in
every place starting in Delhi.etc. Goa AAP must gear up immediately
forming the party strong in Goa.

There is little doubt that the VIP syndrome is endemic, taken to extremes
and has no place in a secular socialist democratic republic. No wonder some
politicians want a debate to remove the words secular and socialist from
the Constitution which will make most citizens permanent mental slaves or
second class citizens. NDTV must be congratulated for making it a mission
with proactive sting operations using VIP actors in public places getting
people to react to the VIP syndrome by showing them up and us citizens a
replay! There is a written pledge formulated that people and politicians
are signing to shun special VIP privileges and behavior. They have called
for all the VIP signboards at airports and other places including the "Lal
batti" from their cars removed. The AAP is shown to have signed the
statement, so also some prominent politicians. The Delhi High Court has
meanwhile reportedly asked the government and police why if CCTVs can be
put up for security of VIPs, it is n
ot done so for Delhi'ites! It will be interesting to see if the BJP will
bite this bullet to banish the obnoxious VIP culture due overwhelming
public disgust and outcry building up! I would go a step further and
suggest red light and siren be reserved only for emergencies, fire fighting
engines and police only when chasing criminals. So will know an emergency
and give way or may even offer to help! The President, Governors, PM, CMs,
Chief Justice and Defence Forces chiefs could use blue lights period!
Either that or all citizens must be VIPs says Pranoy Roy! Absolutely agree.
