Dear reader We are pleased to announce the first “*Lusofonia Festival Goa 2015”*. From February 20 to March 20 there will be several cultural events aiming to promote the culture of the Lusophone countries and regions focusing this year Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Macau, Portugal and Timor Leste.. Photographies of the 19th Century * *Fundação Oriente, Fontainhas, Panjim Inauguration on February 20, 5.30 pm at Fundação Oriente Opening time: Feb 21 to March 10, from 10 am to 5 pm, Sundays closed. Entry free.* An extraordinary collection of photographies from the time of earliest photography techniques. From Lisbon to Timor crossing the Suez Canal and passing through Egypt, Mumbai, Goa, Daman, Nagar Haveli, Shri Lanka, Indonesia. Exhibition organized by LSG – Lusophone Society of Goa, in collaboration with the Directorate of Culture North, Museum of Lamego (Portugal), Directorate of Art and Culture (Goa), Goa Tourism Development Corporation and Fundação Oriente. *Presentation "Some experiences of Architectural Conservation in Portugal and in Goa" *Arch. Gerson Rei (Coimbra - Portugal) and Arch. Ketak Nachinolkar (Goa - India) *February 24, 5.00 pm. Lecture Hall, Goa State Central Library, Patto, Panjim. Entry free* The authors will give examples of conservation in Portugal and in Goa for a better understanding of similarities and different points of view. *Photography exhibition "A glimpse of Macau" * *Inauguration with the presence of the author Margarida Fernandes on March 7, 5.30 pm at Art Gallery, Sanskruti Bhavan, Patto, Panjim Opening time: March 8 to 19, from 10 am to 5 pm, every day. Entry free.* The Photographies of Margarida Fernandes give a good perspective of the daily life in Macau. The author was able to catch the special extaordinary mixture of Chinese and Portuguese culture in Macau: the city has a decidedly European ambiance although most of the people who live there are Chinese. There are a number of celebrations which combine both Portuguese and Chinese customs so you will be able to see things in the photographs exposed that you wouldn't see anywhere else. *"Brazilian Sweet Dishes Class" * *Verna, February 25, 9.30 am Previous registration required.
