Many may be curious as to why Goa’s very controversial and infamous Advocate General Atmaram Nadkarni is toiling so very hard to try and save the beleaguered Mapusa Judge Dvijple Patkar who has now been charge sheeted by the Margao Police.
Their fusion is allegedly because of a high stake matter Special Civil Suit No. 31/2013 being heard by Judge Dvijple Patkar in which Atmaram Nadkarni is defending Liquor Baron Vijay Mallya from his Kingfisher Villa at Candolim being taken over by the banks as part-payment of his outstanding debt. Ironically last year on the floor of the Goa Legislative Assembly then Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar while strongly lambasting then CBI Court Judge PV Sawaikar had stoutly eulogised Dvijple Patkar as a very skilled and capable Judge. It now reveals that all that blab by Manohar Parrikar was apparently at the instance of Atmaram Nadkarni for being able to successfully keep his prized client Vijay Mallya on judicial life support from the brewing banking vows. Now that the ‘skilled’ judge has been skinned and charge sheeted by his very own police, it is left to be seen what Manohar Parrikar has to say.
