Despite it being a brief five day session and Goa submerged in so many pressing issues, our MLAs chose to high-handedly waste 137 minutes of precious legislative time on congratulating Manohar Parrikar for all his U turns and for the utter mess he has left Goa in.
Every Goan knows that the former Chief Minister miserably failed on all counts with all his empty promises and took a safe exit to become Defence Minister after taking Goa to the brink. He has been one of the worst Chief Minister who stooped as low to interfere, influence and manipulate even in the working of the Panchayats and Municipalities. On his cheap and devious blackmail tactics to silence political opponents less said the better. Thanks to Manohar Parrikar Goa has intentionally been kept without a Lokayukta and no Information Commissioners to enable corruption continue unabated with no transparency in governance. To his credit and skewed vision, Goa has today transformed into a gambling, prostitution and narcotics hub. The very sordid state of this government’s health was reflected in the fatigue displayed by Governor Mridula Sinha while delivering her maiden but incomplete address to the Goa Legislative Assembly.
