For the past 26 years she has been the head of the Department of History at the Government College of Arts, Science & Commerce,Quepem in Goa. Her interest in history has been life-long,while her focus on political consciousness began during her years as a student activist of the Progressive Students Union, Goa. This preoccupation led her to reasearch the impact of Luis de Menezes Braganza on Goa's anti-colonial struggle. She presents papers regularly to State and National seminars, some of which have found a place in books on the history of Goa published by the Xavier Centre of Historical Research, Institute Menezes Braganza and the Directorate of Archives and Archeology, Government of Goa.She also writes periodically for the Marathi daily* Lokmat* and its Sunday edition *Manthan* on issues related to Goa.
