AVOIDABLE CONFUSION The confusion and hassle of paying electricity bills for the current billing period from 10 Jan to 13, Feb could well have been avoided. The banks would not accept the bills after 25 March 2015 on the direction of the Electricity Department. The banks were busty too for their annual closing. Besides 3 April was a public holiday and banks usually do not accept the electricity bills on a Saturday i.e 2 April The tight schedule available for payment was not considered by the Department that put consumers to great inconvenience. Considering these factors the issue date could have been more realistic and so the final due date and after due date with fine for compliance. There has been avoidable lapse of judgment involuntarily perhaps, but which has resulted in a lot of pain to the honest paying consumers
