Did I say that?
Often, in fact too often, we read in some article or other about how an unfortunate politician has been misquoted. Why does it happen at a time when almost every journalist is using a computer and other hi-tech gadgets? Are there no recording devices available in Goa anymore? Readers have a right to accurate information of what someone has said or hasn't, and it should not become controversial only because the speaker's opinion has not been recorded, especially nowadays when a lot of our politicians suffer from foot-in-the-mouth disease. Newspaper managers need to give journalists recording devices so they can do their job properly. Otherwise, the media projects a less than professional image which is no way to build trust and confidence in readers and the public.
