On 30th March the Supreme Court of India dismissed Mickky Pacheco’s appeal against the six month jail sentence imposed on him by the Bombay High Court at Goa for having in 2006 slapped the Electricity department Junior Engineer Kapil Natekar.
It’s a month that the beleaguered Mickky Pacheco is on the run and the Nuvem constituency without an MLA. Mickky Pacheco is evading arrest with the tacit blessings of the government. With the police unable to nab the high profile absconding convict Mickky Pacheco, the buck stops at the door of Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar who also holds the Home portfolio. While the people are watching this evolving Mickky Mouse show, the flamboyant former Minister may not be able to conceal himself for long. The sooner Mickky Pacheco surfaces and surrenders the better. He will be in the cage this Independence day but will at least be back home for Christmas and usher in the New Year with a resolute pledge never ever to slap anyone again.
