Privileges of elected representative It is a new disclosure that BJP M.P`s are ensconced in the comforts of five star hotels over a year. It has cost the exchequer a whooping amount of Rs 25 crores .It is to be seen in contrast with those without adequate shelter dying in severe heat and extreme cold on the streets of Delhi. One senior M.P had the audacity to shoot back whether they expected the honourable members to live in juggi jopdis When they seek votes from such inhabitants it is an insult to their habitation.It is the height of arrogance when they assume powwer. The BJP claimed and promised to be party with difference, practicing austerity. One wonders whether such instances are deliberately ignored to give them a feel and experience of life time of super luxury as a bonus for their fidelity. The legislators are to be provided with decent accommodation in Govt quarters or state guest houses till such times as minor repairs are being undertaken, but not post themselves in five star comforts, far removed from the voters they seem to represent. In the state of H.P they have been sanctioned 60 lakhs for purchase of accommodation. The M.P`s should not dictate the choice of colour, crockery furniture and fittings etc at the cost of the tax payers. They should pay for their special tastes Those that over stay over unreasonable periods after the expiry of term of lok sabha etc should be expelled or made to pay heavy fine and rent at market rates .The Ministry in Charge overseeing accommodation should be made answerable to this criminal misconduct of public waste of resources. Any way 50 % of the time is outside the functioning of the House. Alternatively house allowance eligible should be made available to fend for their own accommodation .Staying in the comforts and luxury of five star hotel by an M.P cannot be tolerated or appreciated They should be made to pay back all such expenses.
In the list privileges of pensions, free medical treatment in India and abroad, unlimited travel by air, post, telephones, gas, water subsidised food, constituency allowances, attendants shuffer driven car, air port facility, interest free loans, laptops, inverters, mobiles etc a new privilege is added by BJP M.P.
