In cyberspace, comments have come up about the win of three Goans in the UK Parliament:
Suella Fernandes, 34-year-old barrister. Conservatives https://twitter.com/suellafernandes [Fareham] http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/news/local/general-election-suella-fernandes-holds-fareham-for-the-tories-1-6732422 Keith Vaz, Labour. Leicester East http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keith_Vaz Valerie Vaz, Labour. Walsall South http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valerie_Vaz But the one everyone seems to be missing out on is John McDonnell who retained the Hayes and Harlington Labour Party seat. McDonnell is Chairman of the Labour Socialist Campaign Group. Also the Labour Representation Committee, and the "Public Services Not Private Profit Group". He is also Parliamentary Convenor of the Trade Union Co-ordinating Group of eight left-wing trade unions representing over half a million workers. McDonnell attempted to stand for the post of Labour Party leader following Tony Blair's resignation in 2007 but was unable to gain sufficient nominations. He was a candidate for Leader again in 2010 following Gordon Brown's resignation but withdrew in favour of Diane Abbott. McDonnell married Cynthia Pinto in 1995. (This info is available on his Wikipedia page.) Cynthia is the daughter of the ex-Kenya-based (till quite recently) Betsy Pinto Nunes, who now leads an active life in Goa as an octogenarian, and even runs Goanet-Femnet, part of the Goanet family! Congratulations all, hoping to see you do your best... and Goa proud. -- P +91-832-2409490 M 9822122436 Twitter: @fn Facebook: fredericknoronha Goa,1556 Shared Content at archive.org https://archive.org/details/goa1556
