- My dear Dr. Oscar Rebello,
Although you understood my point, I failed to understand why you are harping on the point that the Church should have involved others so called secular Hindu MLA’s to fight its battle for justice for Catholic schools. CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME You must understand Church is not a political organization and it is difficult for it to judge who is secular and who is communal. It could be your job as a politician now to identify true secularist among politician. For instance, UDAY BEMBRE. ARVIND BHATIKAR and the likes who are exercising Bambonguiri and pretend to be secularist are worst enemies of the minorities as they want to keep the BHAHUJAN SAMAJ suppressed, depressed and oppressed; a trait very common among Brahmins across board. Catholic doctors come under the banner “St Luke Guild”. Why not a secular GUILD? It is common across the globe to form associations like Rotary Club, to promote business interest, YMCA promotes Christians values, RSS is Hindu outfit and MUSLIM LEAGUE protects Muslims demands. The only reason we are up in arms against RSS is because it forcibly harasses the minority and generates fear psychosis among people in the society. If RSS works like the Rotary, YMCA, Diocesan Society etc promoting Hindu values and its goodness, there would have been NO Objection, but forcibly demanding beef ban, Hindu rastra and other Hindu rituals is wrong. The Church is not doing this. It only seeks to mobilize its own forces within the Catholic community and it is upto you and others who are considered intellectuals to identify and promote the needs of DSA among secular Hindus who would be able to give justice to the Catholic community. I am at sea to identify secular MLA’s in the Goa assembly if the Church had addressed the issue to other MLA’s also besides the Catholics; Dhavalikar brothers and the communal elements within the BJP would have bulldozed the Church memorandum. You know well a double face Vishnu Wagh is trying to deny grants to English schools and many BJP Hindu MLA’s are for Marathi. So, please understand that Rome was not built in a Day, but for the Church to go on in its battle it has started with the Catholics taking the support of Catholics and it is upto you to bring on the secular forces on board, as I see there are many wolves in sheep clothes, which would be difficult for the Church to segregate and identify. I thank Dr. Rufino Monteiro, Alina Saldanha, Minister of Forest and Environment, Michael Lobo MLA, Francisco D’Sousa Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Flora former Head of Goa Medical College, Adv Rui Ferreira, Celvio Fernandes Medical Rep, and many others like minded who fully support and sympathize the issues raised by Diocesan Society of Goa without questioning.
