Dear Aires, You said that only Court can allow Pacheco to attend the assembly sessions which I feel is incorrect. NO one is empowered to allow a convict especially when the victim is facing a jail sentence. If it is allowed than Goa CM is giving a precedent to all the convicts to attend the assembly sessions in India. Once it is allowed there will be many questions from the public and authorities to tell that this man needs to have the dress code of jail uniform, then he will be exposed to Press to give his views from assembly or make up some damaging stories on various authorities etec while he is undergoing a sentence etc. In fact when a person is in jail he has to stay inside the jail but can go only to court if he is required by the Court. Otherwise what is the purpose of sending a person in jail if he or she can come out from jail? . He becomes exposed to the public to talk and converse as an ordinary free citizen. The President of India can only allow to clear this hurdle or Parliament needs to amend this law. I do not agree with Aires that Court is empowered to give their consent and no CM has powers at all in this case. Then CM may allow each and every person from jail of his choice to come out from jail? This is a JOKE.
