Queenie Fernandes from Siolim won the Kingfisher voice of Goa in the year 2011 and has been singing professionally ever since. She has performed as a movie playback singer and on many albums besides her regular live shows. She recently recorded an old Konkani favourite at Jazz Goa's studio and the track 'Adeus Korcho Vellu Paulo' has been raging among Goans all over the world, thanks to the internet. It even reached No.1 on the international world music charts from over 80,000 world-wide entries. Not surprisingly, since both the audio and video has been slickly produced by Jazz Goa, presenting this old favourite in a whole new light. Besides Queenie's sensitive and emotive voice, the track features maestro Luis Francisco Dias on violin, Domingos Sousa on Brazilian style guitar, Clifford Siqueira on gently brushed drums and Colin D'Cruz bringing back the vintage sound of an upright bass.
