Would you know? Is there an English language transations of the Sahyadri-kandha by Gerson da Cunha available somewhere? His Sanskrit edition (1877) is on the internet, in which he mentions he is preparing its translation (p.3). And in his other book "The Konkani Language and Literature" (p. 8), he mentions this translation is already finished. If this is the case, does anyone know where the translation is available? Please send your suggestions to [email protected] * REMEMBERING IGGY: On his feast day, just celebrated in Goa (July 31), a tribute to the schoolmasters of many a Goan who have shaped ideas and people from here all over the globe: https://www.flickr.com/photos/fn-goa/20173021461/in/dateposted-public/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/fn-goa/19546477743/in/dateposted-public/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/fn-goa/19979362848/in/dateposted-public/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/fn-goa/20167451525/in/dateposted-public/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/fn-goa/19979419780/in/dateposted-public/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/fn-goa/20159340222/in/dateposted-public/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/fn-goa/20159342592/in/dateposted-public/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/fn-goa/19979379348/in/dateposted-public/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/fn-goa/20141189136/in/dateposted-public/ * INTRODUCTION TO PERMACULTURE AT ANJUNA: 2 Aug 10am-3 Aug. 6pm Hop in for an awesome ride into sustainability, resilience and abundance with Permaculture, happening in Goa! I wanted the coconut oil more as a flavouring so I added just a little. Add the mustard seeds and broken red chillies and curry leaves. Add the spice powders and salt into the oil so that the mixture coats the bananas nicely later but be careful not to burn the spices on too high a heat.. add the bananas and give it a quick toss on high heat.. add in the coconut and give it another minute or two and remove.. Tip: Adding the coconut oil gives this dish a nice oomph and enriches it's flavour so it's a definite must add.. * FROM CHINCHINIM TO LOS ANGELES: Addi Da Costa from Chinchinim speaks about his journey from Chinchinim, Salcete Goa India to Los Angeles, California, United States of America Benny Da Costa George Godinho (via Armstrong Vaz) http://bit.ly/1MU3UBl * PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP AT BAINA, VASCO: The Directorate of Art & Culture, in collaboration with West Zone Cultural Centre, Udaipur will be organizing advance photography workshop from August 10 to 12, 2015 at Mini Theatre, Ravindra Bhavan, Baina, Vasco. Anyone knows a honest, efficient property lawyer in Goa? Please suggest. Someone asked a query about this recently. JACKFRUIT CAKE? This is from Mangalore.com via Palakkad: An innovative product, jackfruit seed cake has gaining popularity in Palakkad, Kerala, India. It has 40% of jack seed flour, 20% of unripe (raw) jack carpel flour. No maida or wheat. Rest is jackfruit pieces, eggs and sugar. PSSP's (Palakkad Social Service Society) outlet in the society is now getting advance orders for this cake for weddings, parties etc. Good number of people has appreciated its taste. Jaxo (its brand name) jack wonder nut cake, packed in attractive box had drawn Chennai Jack Festival's attention and was sold there too a few months ago. Now PSSP, with the help of a local bakery is conducting R&D on more baking possibilities using jackfruit seed flour, carpel flour etc. Being gluten-free, this will have more acceptability in the days to come.
