-Dear Roger, Do you know that these gentlemen from BBSM who are interested to topple Govt if the FORCE demand fulfilled are defaulters? DO THEY HAVE GUTS TO DO THAT? They should not threaten Parsekar Government who suddenly changed his mind to get Savio's demands fulfilled and managed to lift his fast at Azad Maidan? Whether true or false promise we have to wait and see.
*Do **you know one of his daughter is married to a Catholic Mrs Pinto 's daughter. Mrs Pinto was secretary working in the office of defence colony Porvorim for many years. Mr Karmali was present for the wedding. Arvind Bhatikar runs the Model English School Margao and his grandson goes to an English medium school! Naguesh Karmali's daughter is in Portugal with her family! What kind of people they are! First they must put their house in order and then fire their salvo.* *Parsekar surely will never bother such threats. He has got a thick skin by now. NAO FAZ CALOR NEM FRIO!* *STEPHEN* --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On 5 August 2015 at 11:53, Roger D'Souza <[email protected]> wrote: Senior BBSM office bearer Subhash Velingkar addressing press in the presence of members Nagesh Karmali, Arvind Bhatikar, Pandurang Nadkarani and Anil Samant BBSM threatens to topple govt if FORCE demand fulfilled Posted by: Navhind Times <http://www.navhindtimes.in/author/user/>August 5, 2015 in Goa News <http://www.navhindtimes.in/category/goanews/> PANAJI: Taking strong view against the recent act of 11 MLAs, including three cabinet ministers as regards giving a written assurance to the agitating members of Forum for Rights of Children’s Education (FORCE) that the House committee proceedings about the Medium of Instruction Bill would be expedited, and Bill placed before the legislative assembly for its approval in the next assembly session, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch (BBSM) have warned that if the government refuses to bend on this issue, then they would not mind the Bharatiya Janata Party losing power in the state. Addressing a press conference in the city on Tuesday along with BBSM members, *state RSS chief and a senior BBSM office bearer Subhash Velingkar said that the BBSM demands that the government withdraw grants to all 127 English primary schools in the state from the academic year 2016-17, as the same was a temporary measure taken by the then chief minister Manohar Parrikar.* “We also *want the government to identify all those FORCE members and managements of the schools, who misled the parents and held the state as well as its people to ransom* on July 31 by blocking roads in 17 places around the state,” he added. Velingkar further told the pressmen that the BBSM will re-launch its agitation in support of their demands on August 7, at 3.30 from the city Mahalaxmi temple. “A morcha would proceed from the temple to the Azad Maidan and culminate into a public meeting,” he informed. “We are ashamed of the 11 MLAs, who have not only displayed their desperation for votes, but also insulted the manifesto of the BJP for the 2012 assembly election,” Velingkar stated, demanding that these 11 MLAs should tender their resignation, by apologising to the public. He also said that the FORCE does not necessarily represent all students of Goa, and therefore, has no right to speak about the Goan student community. *Former IAS officer Arvind Bhatikar, speaking on the occasion, said that the agitation of the BBSM is no longer an education related protest but has gathered the form of a political and further, religious agitation. He said that they were forced to take the decision as a section of people are bend upon dividing the state through de-alienation of the students from local culture and languages adding “time has come to do a rethinking on the statement of T B Cunha as regards denationalisation of Catholics.”* Stressing that the BBSM will not allow any political party to denationalise Goa, Bhatikar further raised question on the written assurance given by the 11 ruling side MLAs to the FORCE members. “Do these MLAs have authority to do something, which is the work of the state cabinet,” he questioned, pointing out that the written assurance is nothing more than a ‘face-saving device’ for the government. Nagesh Karmali, Pandurang Nadkarni and Anil Samat were also present at the briefing.
