Dear All In addition to endeavouring to join the Champions who are keen to save Goa and assuming we can save Goa, GEM this year - 2015 dedicated our cultural event on 25 July 2015 in memory of the late Dr Jack de Sequeira who has completed a century since God gave him as one of the sons of Goa in addition to many that are down in history. As any genuine leader in this world, there are many who admired him and some had their own self opinionated impression which of course comes in the territory of leadership less known to us. Greatness is not only restricted to one type of denomination! We need to be fair in passing futile judgement/s.
We need to be proud of our Goans and not trample upon the achievements. It is easy to talk but very different to take ownership. It is only the week and selfish who sit on the fence and gossip and reluctant to take the responsibility but prefer to stick to tall poppy syndrome. Leaving that aside momentarily, Goa was put on the map in 2004 by Melgoans and now GEM when a Member of Parliament in Victoria spoke about our culture and heritage in the parliament in August 2004. In a similar vein, the Community TV this year, will show on C31 (Digital 44) two episodes on how Goans from Goa like to share our culture and heritage to the multicultural and mainstream Victorian Australian population (presently circa 5.7 million) in two episodes - one on 30 August and 06 September 2015 (both Sundays when people enjoy their week-end) at 1:30pm. Episode 1 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8aqPXIY_9s Episode 2 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IlNMd9lsZsU Viva re Viva Goenkarachem Goa. UNQUOTE. Thank you for all those lovely people who attended our function in 2015 and if you, your families and friends have enjoyed it, please let them know so that they too can share the joys of the evening next year - 2016.
