ALL THOSE WHO ARE MOLESTING WOMEN AT WORK PLACE MUST BE TAKEN TO TASK. EARLIER WE ALL WERE ANGRY FOR TARUN TEJPAL EDITOR OF TEHELKA THAT HE WAS A MOLESTER, AND NOW WE SEE THAT HE WAS GIVEN A MEMENTO BY FRANCIS DE TUEM. ALL THE TABLES HAVE BEEN TURNED DOWN AND HE APPEARED NOW INNOCENT AS MOST OF THE POLITICIANS SAYS THAT UNTIL THEY ARE PROVEN GUILTY NO ONE CAN TOUCH THEM. NOW WE HAVE RUPESH SAWANT AS PER THIS REPORT FROM TARGET GOA THAT HE BEING A SENIOR JOURNALIST SOME 3 FORMER COLLEAGUES FILE COMPLAINTS OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT, WILL AGAIN NEEDS TO BE PROVEN GUILTY? CRIME BRANCH WILL SURELY DO THEIR JOB, AND IF FOUND GUILTY WILL HE BE FREE OR UNDER BARS? HOPE HE HAS NO GOD FATHERS. LAW WILL TAKE ITS OWN COURSE AND MANY SUCH CASES COMES FORWARD? . WILL INVESTIGATION BE TAKEN AT FAST TRACK AND NOT LIKE TARUN TEJPAL CASE? HAPPY THAT THIS NEW COMMITTEE FORMED WILL TAKE THE CASE IN HAND AS I HAVE GUARANTEE BECAUSE I KNOW SOME OF THE MEMBERS ARE VERY STRICT AND SINCERE AND THEY ARE BEST JOURNALISTS WHO WILL FOR SURE FIGHT FOR THIS MOLESTATION ISSUE WHICH IS PREVAILING IN GOA NOWADAYS AND GIVING A BAD NAME FOR GOA MOLESTERS FEEL THAT IT IS THEIR RIGHTS. ADVOCATES ALBERTINA AND SONAK ARE THE BEST PERSONS TO GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THESE MOLESTERS.OR SEXUAL HARASSMENT AT WORK PLACES. HOPE GOOD JOB WILL BE DONE.
stephen dias, d.paula --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Police book senior Goa journalist after 3 former colleagues file complaints of sexual harassment 25, Sep 2015 Everyone raised eyebrows and wondered whether the stress of staging the 100th show of his tiatr *Reporter *addled his brain. But Francis de Tuem's highly debated invitation to alleged rapist and editor of Tehelka, Tarun Tejpal — as chief guest, no less — did have some positive fallout. We have another alleged home grown serial sexual harasser among Goan media too — one Rupesh Samant, a senior journalist whose extra-curricular antics with vulnerable female staff led to much angst among other journalists who could not persuade the victims to come forward and lodge police complaints. Quite possibly, Tejpal being lauded by Francis de Tuem a tiatrist, whose calling is to show up the flaws in society and not praise them, especially alleged rapists of victims who are young enough to be their daughters, convinced the local Lothario's victims that it was time to bite the bullet and lodge the police complaint. Three women journalist who worked previously with Samant came forward and lodged their complains. Rupesh Samant was booked for sexual harassmetn under section 354A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) last night. This is also a healthy sign that the brand new sub-committee of the Goa Union of Journalists (GUJ) to look into and facilitate complaints of sexual harassment at the workplace in media houses, has hit the ground running. The GUJ panel is headed by President Sadguru Patil and has GUJ General Secretary Atish Naik as its ex-officio members. Other members include Bindiya Chari, Devika Sequeira and Sanghmitra Mainkar besides women's rights advocate Albertina Almeida. Adv Satish Sonak has agreed to guide the panel though he is not a member. The panel will act as a facilitator with regards to any complaint which the panel receives. Complaints will be handed over to District Complaints Committee formed under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act. Complainants can be sent to President of the Panel Sadguru Patil via phone at 9552275648. Complaints can also be sent to [email protected] or to Bindiya Chari at [email protected] or 9763718497 or via the 'contact' form on the GUJ website (goauj.com/contact/). GUJ is also following up with media houses to set up their internal complaints committees. *INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY Francis de Tuem beams proudly as he offers a memento to accused rapist Tarun Tejpal editor of Tehelkamagazine. This rule has allowed criminals to strut free, allows persons like Francis de Tuem to laud them, and keeps victims and their families cowering in fear. Not in Goa though. Tejpal's doppelganger senior Goa journalist Rupesh Samant's victims said 'no more' and filed a police complaint against him.** [Photo courtesy heraldgoa.in <http://heraldgoa.in>].*
