I don't know anybody who claims that Goa is beautiful anymore and don't blame the government for all the ills. There is probably no money to clean the place or its all gobbled down by corrupt people ... and then, who pays taxes anymore? Local businesses pay diddly-squat. For example, I spent 6 days in Goa where we mostly ate our meals at Goan restaurants - usually along the beach belt. Not one restaurant was willing to accept my US issued credit cards or debit cards - even though the checks were not small money. The reason?
