Prerogative of C.M. The allotment of the portfolios of Ministers is the privilege and prerogative of the C.M of the state The party is consulted in these appointments. Individuals have no say or demands though they may very politely indicate their preferences, which are not binding Courtesy demands that the concerned legislators be taken into confidence at their appointment or substitution It appears that in recent changes in council of Ministers, Goa some were kept in the dark and hence public resentment, posturing of the process, Those advisers, well-wishers, admirers of Mrs Alina Mathany are actually doing disservice to her cause, purportedly speaking on her behalf .It is the BJP good will gesture and magnanimity in the face of severe ,internal dissensions, heartburning that her late husband Mathany is immortalized and memory perpetuated by naming the administrative complex at Margao. May be BJP capitalized on empathy and sympathy for late Mr Saldanha and due to its manipulations got elected .Mrs Alina, a political novice .She did not demand the portfolio she handled almost admirable without any experience, expertise in the field or administration. She showed her capacity to learn , adjust and deliver it was not bestowed on her for any special consideration or merit or at the behest, request of so called supporters, vocals, When she is relieved and reassigned she must accept with humility or resign with hurt feelings of false pride. It is possible that she might have rubbed some on the wrong side, by sticking to her avowed principles, which she strongly believed. The purported remark of C.M on marinas and now the new incumbent to revise her decisions and call for public clarifications ,suggestions are indications of brewing discontent .Rather than imputing motives to the change in her portfolios, a prerogative of C.M, she will do well to demonstrate her capacity do justice to the new assignment, Changes in ministries are not necessarily indictment of individual capacity, but new thinking for adjustment, whatever that might be or envisioned in greater context. Mrs Alina is no heavy political heavy weight to cause political ripples or has dependable support, She will do well to remain in the inner circle and try to deliver to her people in the unfinished task . The opportunity thrust on her by circumstances must not be frittered away by thin amour of so called political sensitivity of humiliation and pride
