Faleiro confirmed to TOI that he had intimated his request to the Congress national president Sonia Gandhi when he had submitted the report of the party functioning in Goa during the Congress party's executive committee meeting held earlier this year. He denied that he had tendered his resignation or was planning to do.
The GPCC president reiterated that he had taken over this post since the party president Gandhi had entrusted him the responsibility of putting the party affairs in order in the state. tnn
