Intellectual pride and arrogance The outbursts of both Arvind Batikar and Uday Bembre smack of intellectual pride and arrogance . An IAS officers post is and administrative positions and not that of an Educationists. The love and concern for regional languages have not made Model school to promote regional languages up to Std X, The progress and prominence and calling in life of these stalwarts and there children is due to proficiency in English. It is an old mentality and apprehension of rise of common people through the vehicle of Education and the so called illiterate parents have internalized the advantages of such a decision. If Uday has no control and influence at home., Why does he force his unsolicited Educational advice, theories of wisdom on others? The flourishing of unabated private English medium schools with a large strength are an affront to the cultural identity syndrome espoused. Are the so called intellectuals can be presumed to be acting on their behalf and not opposing the islands of privileged educational opportunities for the rich,?. The rich have a choice. For 450 years of suppressed regional language of cooks . buttlers did not obliterate Kon and Marathi as used regional languages and non is accused of being a cultural misfit of the time. It is the common people who have preserved the language in use without script controversy and not Uday or Batikar or likes, Goans have large presence in Maharashtra and sizeable population in Karnataka, where reciprocal arrangements of learning regional language are not place nor requested. It does not behoove intellectuals to denigrate Mr Lopes with assumed Educational background and experience, without proper check. It was expected that issues would be debated and not persons with knit picking, background of the leader as incompetent. It is a shame and disgrace not to bewell informed about educational, professional and without doing a reality check of maligning Mr Lopes and that is intellectual integrity, character at best. The DSE and authorities need no front to represent their aspirations and the organization is well capable of looking about its own interests. In fact in can be safely presumed that both these intellectuals are doing the bidding of someone else without locus standi on their own volition and without parents involvement., The grants to primary education come from all tax payers .Anyway the Marathi and Kanada, Urdu medium schools are not denied grants, then what is the case for acting like dog in the manger attitudes of a motley few .? The parents have right to decide the future of their children like Batikar and Uday, and Court has pronounced that medium of instructions cannot be forced. The compulsory subject of Kon is sufficient to meet all oppositions .many of the successful individuals to day have neither studied Kon or Marathi and that has been no hindrance to their careers. The script is also a hindrance for so called National integration, when compulsory Hindi as the subject can meet the requirements .Force is not contesting the spread of Marathi et al, but the fact of their diminishing status is worrying the protagonists.
Mr Lopes has the whole hearted support of all concerned and is successfully leading the movement from the front admirably and must be emphasized is not an arm chair specialist, ensconced in some archives., The willingness to discuss with Smiti Irani, is ludicrous for similar reasons, if at all as an Central education Minister, whose qualifications for the post are a controversy in public domain. The first CM of Goa gave a push to education after liberation and is a wise educationist without qualifications, but with the vision of experience, Other Ministers of Education did not boast of formal College degrees and yet they have contributed humbly to the spread and quality of education .We may ask who is the educationist conferred with the privilege to be called so ? The elected Govt, assurances must be allowed to prevail and decisions cannot be selectively questioned to cast aspersions and to intimidate. Intellectuals with legal mind must better understand at forcing under pressure cabinet decisions The running down of person of Force leader is uncharitable, demeaning and unbecoming of so called intellectual giants and have received condemnation, where the opinions are printed .Great minds only discuss ideas and which unfortunately Uday and Arvind have arrogantly refused to do publicly ,citing differences of so called intellectuals levels. The parents with their varied experiences, practical wisdom and without any formal education, degrees at times have gathered around the leader, reposing faith in his sincerity for the future of their children Imputing motives are undesirable and cowardice acts The attempt to divide people on religious, communal.
