It surprisiging but not perhaps not without having occured in the past. The curious case of Colva panch Calvert Gonsalves has turned in a media battle between the two lawyers over Portuguese citizenship or Portuguese Passports. The allegations are flying from each across the other.
Aires's pointing out Rajeev's twin career of being a government prosecutor and a private lawyer is rather strange. Maybe, it's within legal norms. However, the case is about Calvert abusing a fellow-panch, who is, I think, a person belonging to the SC/ST category. Aires if fighting for Francisco, the name of the panch, while Rajeev is for Calvert. Calvert is also facing charges (and was in Sada jail) from ACB for "disproportionate assets" and is defended by Radharao Gracias. Doesn't the ACB cases is fought by government prosecutors? When I was in Goa in 2014/15, the ACB too contacted me for a statement againt Calvert. He had promised to pay me for my house where his in-laws are staying in Colva. The Smith family took possession of the house. It's a long story. Want to know what happens to the cases against Calvert. Eugene
