Dear Bombay Catholic Sabha,

A few days ago in Chiapas, Mexico, Pope Francis
urged<http://global.us10.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=9a4574228876a94c19d41644f&id=f7298bc84a&e=1c7317ca58>,
“We can no longer remain silent before one of the greatest environmental
crises in world.”

He continued, “Today’s world, ravaged as it is by a throwaway culture, needs
you!”

These are strong words meant for all of us.

This world needs you: your prayers, your fasting, and your action.

PRAY - As we reach the middle of the month, we are reminded of the Pope’s
universal prayer intention for February “That we may take good care of
creation–a gift freely given–cultivating and protecting it for future
generations.” Let us continue to pray for our leaders, our institutions, and
ourselves that we might contribute our unique piece in the mosaic of climate
solutions. If you haven’t already seen the Pope’s inspiring video, click
here<http://global.us10.list-manage.com/track/click?u=9a4574228876a94c19d41644f&id=df4b3dc47b&e=1c7317ca58>
 and then share.

FAST - Our Lenten Fast for Climate
Justice<http://global.us10.list-manage.com/track/click?u=9a4574228876a94c19d41644f&id=87669fe28c&e=1c7317ca58>
began last week on Ash Wednesday. Today we have close to 800 fasters in 55
countries. Help us quadruple that number by inviting 4 people to join you in
fasting today by sharing the webpage link:
bit.ly/lentenfast<http://global.us10.list-manage.com/track/click?u=9a4574228876a94c19d41644f&id=d782bcbe4e&e=1c7317ca58>

ACT - Many of you have shared events you are planning during Lent as part of
your fast for climate justice: a film screening in Ecuador, a lunch reflection
in Australia, a prayer day in the United States. What can you do--even if it's
just to have one conversation with a friend on climate change. You can click
here<http://global.us10.list-manage.com/track/click?u=9a4574228876a94c19d41644f&id=38e3b48f71&e=1c7317ca58>
 for other ideas.

As the Pope’s
tweet<http://global.us10.list-manage.com/track/click?u=9a4574228876a94c19d41644f&id=1f72d89660&e=1c7317ca58>
above reminds us, “We cannot pretend all is fine.” During this precious season
of Lent, let us pray for the resolve to move beyond our comfort zone and
respond to the cries of our “ravaged world” with courage and compassion.

In prayer,

Christina on behalf of the GCCM team
