This month's Goanet operations sponsored by an Anonymous Donor

Hi Selma, Cornel and Fred,
Thanks for your posts and agreeing with me regarding recycling of old e-mails
(private and public). Cornel gave the individuals who reuse old post some
choice words. I could not follow the words not having lived in E. Africa. As
Cornel asked for some Konkani words, how about Bamto? I do not know what it
means. Selma's terminology had a musical ring.
The first step to recycle old posts is the act of saving them. Saving e-mails,
especially the unpleasant / derogatory ones, begs the question: How low can one
get? It pains and baffles me when otherwise intelligent Goans do it. I have a
difficult time saving important information and would not dream of saving such
silly stuff. I do not agree that Goanet administration is amiss in "approving"
the e-mails for distribution. I may fault them for not taking action (after
the fact), to deter repetitions and to maintain a standard.
One of the most gratifying aspects of opening my e-mail box is to hit the
delete button. And I do so generously, deleting 80% of the e-mails without
opening. My computer deletes 25 e-mails at a time. That has been easier than
trying to get individuals to get me off their lists.
Regards, GL

And, pray, may I ask, what are the duties of Goanet members? We have heard a
lot of sermons on how the (volunteer) admins should work! --FN, volunteer
admin for 10+ years, who got fed-up of it all!
