India play their first match against Bangladesh on April 26 before taking on Nepal the next day. In an exclusive chat with www.the-aiff.com, Head Coach Priya P.V spoke at length about the Team’s preparations, challenges, opponents and a lot more. *EXCERPTS:* *What are your expectations?* There are no expectations from the support staff. We have told the Players to enjoy their Football and we know the talent that the Players possess will take us a long way in the Championship. *How does your preparation complement your expectations?* With a camp of more than a month the Players are as prepared as they ever will be. All they need to do now is follow the instructions and perform on the big stage. *What do you think of India’s opponents?* Both Bangladesh and Nepal are tough opponents and we will have to be at the top of our game if we have to get a favourable result. We have to concentrate and remain focussed about the task at hand. There’s no room for complacency. *What do you make of the squad at hand?* The squad has the talent to upset some of the best Teams in Asia. All of them are apprehensive of learning and they have acknowledged the training sessions by putting in hard work. *What according to you is the biggest strength?* Unity! That is the biggest strength of the Team. If the squad works together as a single unit then these girls have the ability to play attractive match-winning Football. Everybody stays united in this cause. *How is the mood in the Camp?* The girls are excited and at the same time nervous about the Championship. However, everybody is united and helping each other. We are ready and will give our best on the pitch come what may. -------------------------------------- EOM Media Department, AIFF. Alternate: [email protected] Website: www.the-aiff.com
