Hon. Chief Minister of Goa, Laxmikant Parsekar, Hon. Sir,
I am sure that you read my e-mails and today's Herald in page 2, regarding the water wastage/leakage at the new widening road at Dona Paula, near Viswajit Rane and NIO Colony. People are crying here for water for drinking and this leakage is still going on till now, ( 29th April) and not yet started the repairs by PWD. Would you please Sir, take up the matter and order for an inquiry and please get it repaired soon as this problem of wastage of water is going on since 22nd April 2016. All this time the wastage of water leakage was going on, although I have addressed in my e-mails, to Principal PWD Engineer, and other dignitaries, till now they have failed to attend the fault, until Herald published my issue today. The leakage is still persisting. Residents from Dona Paula informed me that number of PWD officials including Mr. Borkar ( JE), visited the site today, at 4 PM ( 29th April) to check the problem. The water I have found still leaking after they have left that is at 5 PM onward. Not known when they will be able to tackle this difficult problem. I am afraid that since there is no visual sign of the leakage at the site and not even a crack nor any hole, at the site at middle of the widening road , I am afraid that the puncture of pipeline might be at a distance from the actual point of leakage and could be due to heavy pressure underground. It could be even generating the leak at a certain distance. If that is so, than the PWD may have to dig up, the whole area in random for finding the fault. If such type of faults occurs in near future at other parts of the road widening than the whole project is going to get a bad name. Why the PWD have first of all, did not reallocate these pipelines at a safer corner of the road before asphalting? Government must initiate an inquiry for such bad planning which is going to cost for the Government exchequer. This leakage is just across the road close to my residence, and since people are suffering for drinking water, it is requested that the PWD may please take up this repairs urgently. Herald may please bring out in their HCN channel if the PWD if the fault is still persisting for longer time.
