Until his policy speech recently to a select Washington audience, Trump was
dismissed as a foreign policy lightweight and that area his greatest weakness.

For this reason there must have been many of his critics waiting for his first
speech on foreign policy to show his shallowness to the American people and to
the rest of the waiting world.

Once again, the sceptics ate humble pie.

Trump was clear, focused and made eminent sense. If I was an American, this
would have clinched any doubts I might have had about voting for him come
November.

His opponents will continue to say he was low on specifics but the fact is he
made more sense than Hilary Clinton will, given her recent track record.

The bottom line that Trump espoused: Saying America is great doesn't make it
so. The country has been humiliated and defeated several times and that should
stop. Going forward American interests must be put before any other, its
influence should be made its instrument, not its soldiers, but when nothing
else works, they should fight only to win.

Trump has got vision, is unwavering and has a history of not flip flopping on
issues. What he has said 25 years ago, he says now.
