Gallery Gitanjali is delighted to present the Second Session of *Young@Art* , the Art Club for Children at *Gallery Gitanjali*, Fontainhas. The club will meet on *Saturday 16th July 2016 *at 10:30 am to 1:00 pm or 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm to participate in the session on *"Elements of Art I : Line, Shape, Form & Color".*
In this session the children will be given an insight on how to read the various elements that contribute to a work of art. The session aims at instilling a visual awareness when analyzing an artwork and also facilitating them to use the elements when creating their own work of art. The Elements are very essential in the creation of a work of art and through this session the child will be stimulated to distinguish successfully between the visual elements exhibited in an artwork. Hands on activities designed specifically for the session will help the children to understand the essence of every element present in a work of art. Through the course of *12 sessions*, the children will be exposed to various artistic genres and mediums from the archaic to the modern and the contemporary, both in India and globally. The program aims at developing a creative outlook in young children where they learn to observe and describe, analyse and interpret visual works of art. The club wants to make the child independent of any restraints when it comes to individual expression, hence enabling them to express themselves with or without words. Through the activities that we have handpicked for every session, the child practices problem-solving skills, critical-thinking skills, art-making skills, language and vocabulary of the arts. Arts build confidence. Because there is not just one right way to make art, every child can feel pride in his or her original artistic creations and understandings. *About the Resource People :* Varsha Pednekar Varsha recently completed her Masters degree at Faculty of Fine Arts, MSU, Baroda, after graduating from the Goa College of Art in Painting.
