It is good that minorities are being defined in this manner. Definitely, any
minority does require state protection so that they are not discriminated
against in the society.
I understand that there is a United Nations definition of minority. I read
somewhere that this definition limits a state recognised minority to about
10%. Can someone let me know? I know that it would be possible for me to
make an internet search on the subject. But, if anyone does have a ready
access to the information, he/she will encourage me in my laziness, and I will
be eternally grateful. :-)
