Congress in Goa is not oblivious to signs of times The days when Congress party enjoyed the monolith position are fading into oblivion .National parties are a fast dwindling phenomenon .The stature of Congressmen to day is not what it used to be in the past. The stalwarts in the party are a rare commodity, Increase dependence on Ghandi family as at the points of diminishing returns. The congressmen stick like limpets, because none of them have pan India image that can be counted to head and lead the aprty, people have no faith in them.The Charisma of ailing and aged Ms Sonia and unwilling Mr Rahul to take responsibility with shoot and scoot attitude is on the wane and advent of Priyanka has kindled the last hopes of resurrection of Congress bastion, Do not forget that the present Congress is really Indira NationlCongress and since there were no takers for original Indian National Congress, the backless Congressmen merged line, hook and sinker with INC with all the assets , which is synonymous with Indira National Congress
Goa has dismissed the opportunity of coalition to take on the deep rooted BJP, The BJP itself in spite of having absolute majority in the Assembly has deliberately knitted a loose coalition to strengthen its base in Goa akin Faleiro previously, except MGP with two members in pre poll alliance .The results in Delhi. Madras, West Bengal are glaring examples of self confidence gone awry,, Congress has been accused of unholy alliance in west Bengal, though it did not click as expected . The cooperation in Bihar led to humiliating defeat in Bihar., BJP alliance in Kashhmir with PDP with diametric opposite views is glaring example of rank opportunism to wield power, ignoring ideological differences .It is most likely that Congress will soon go in for alliance in UP otherwise it will sink lock stock and barrel. The voters in Goa have sounded caution to parties to seek alliance to dethrone BJP from further getting entrenched and consolidating its roots, The recent feverishness of BJP in pushing some development activities at the eleventh hour including non productive economical social schemes is lost on Congress Divide and rule is the best strategy of BJP in power, because the secular votes alone will be shared between AAP,GFP, NCP,Micky`s party , Goa Sudarop, UGDP et al,acting as spoilt sports, while those of the communal party will remain intact , in spite of threats , protestations and loud noises by both BBSM and MGP, angling for personal recognition and jostling position of power The rise to power in no way can be attributed to BBSM, but disgruntled voters of minority community against the family despotic rule of Congress and monumental scale of corruption, insensitivity, family aspirations, nepotism, favourtism The BJP is therefore laughing its way all the way to the income polls with confidence Some legislators of Congress and others are suggesting unity of forces to take on BJP bandwagon, There is growing suspicion among themselves. The decision of Block Committees is misleading as these individuals owing genuflecting obedience to the appointing authority are out of tune with general public, who have no respect for these bodies thrust upon the electorate The Congress is not feeling the general pulse , need of the hour and it is out f fear that it did not directly participate in Municipal elections in Goa to insulate itself and leaders of sure embarrassment and failure. The Congress adamantly standing on false , inflated egos rather than being realistic .Congress is a sinking ship deserting rats also because of its National position The trend s in Bihar, Tamilnadu, Karnataka,, West Bengal, Delhi ,Jammu & Kashmir are signs of times and era of coalition dharma. The time is now to shed personal egos for unity of purpose, otherwise congress in Goa will be cast into the dustbin of history. Many of the invincible constituencies over decade shave fallen into the lap of BJP,or usurped by independents under tacit, overt , covert and oblique support of the party now in power . Is there any vociferous efforts by Congress to ramp up support and mass protests to highlight shortcomings of BJP, Some notable legislators have gone into hibernation either because of personal deficiencies and skeletons in their cupboards or are silenced by dominant forces in local party because of personal, rivalries and animosities .Shed the differences and unite to remain in relevance and reckoning to preserve the unity, harmony and culture of Goa Nelson Lopes Chinchinim
