Two temp readings are usually reported in Canada at any given time.

In winter it is a) temp and b) wind chill. In summer it is a) temp and b)
humidex.

Wind chill is the temp when the wind blows. For example temp may be minus 25C
but with wind chill may be minus 40C. The good part is that wind chill is
temporary and lasts only when the wind blows, though when it does if you are
not sufficiently protected, you can get frostbite in 5 minutes or less, a
dangerous condition for the extremities.

We are now in an extreme hot weather spell where the average temp until next
Tuesday will be 32C going up to 42C with the humidex. Almost Goa-like as was
prevalent there in the earlier part of this year. Outdoor functions will see a
spike in beer consumption and voyeurs will get to see exposed parts they could
only dream of in winter.
