20, Dr. Pandurang Phaldesaiwill deliver a lecture Panjim : Dalgado Konknni
Akademi (DKA) will commemorate the 63rd birthanniversary of its Founder
President, Fr. Freddy J da Costa onWednesday, July 20, 2016 with a Memorial
Lecture, Aichem Gõy ani AmchiSonvskrutai by Dr. Pandurang Phaldesai, the former
Member Secretary ofKala Academy Goa. Organized in association with Fr. Freddy
J. Da Costa MemorialTrust (FFJDCMT), the function will be held at Ravindra
Bhavan’s Black Box,Margao at 4.00 pm.Velim MLABenjamin Silva will be the Chief
Guest while DKA President Premanand A Lotlikarand FFJDCMT Chairman Fr. Eusebio
Gomes will also grace the occasion. About Dr.Pandurang Phaldesai: Dr. Pandurang
Phaldesai is a distinguished personalityin the field of literature, art and
culture with folk-culture and history beinghis subjects of research. An able
administrator, Dr. Phaldesai completed hisdoctorate from the Goa University and
has so far published 9 research-relatedbooks in English, Konknni and Marathi.
Five of his books are yet to bepublished. Recipient of fellowships from
Government of India andDhempe Charity Trust, Dr. Phaldesai has received Goa’s
‘State Literary Award’and ‘State Cultural Award’ as well. He has also presented
his papers at severalnational and international seminars. FFJDCMT will
alsofelicitate Norma and Claude Alvare, Willy Goes and C.D. Silva on this
occasion. DKA Secretary Vincy Quadros has appealed to all Konknnilovers to
attend the function.
