[Goanet] Modi's Priorities
Hope this does not become a classic Goan thread of endless and fruitless dialog.
To begin with: Why is it he job of the Prime Minister of the Country to build
toilets and ensure that every home has one including internal plumbing?
The last I checked, India has private enterprise. So this is a fertile
opportunity to start a business and employ a few folks.
Of course when overseas Goans go back home, as part of compensating their
host-relatives for their enjoyable stay, they could contract with a local
plumber to do the job as a long lasting memory / legacy of their enjoyable
visit.
If a govt entity has to be in charge of public hygiene and basic
infrastructure, it is the state govt, district authorities and village
panchayat. So petition these entities for laws and regulations. If not
successful, run for office!
Of course it is so much easier to write a post on Goanet or still better talk
about it as part of our evening unwinding at the Tinto.
