Founded Goa Environmental Action Group in 1997. Through this organization. I have actively helped reduce /control noise pollution. Have filed PIL [97 of 1997] in the HC of Bombay which went a long way to curb noise pollution in the State. Other Writ Petitions are Garbage/ PIL 3 of 2005, Hara Constructions at Calapur, Sta. Cruz/PIL 2 of 2006. Recent PIL against 3 hotels in Calangute for violating CRZ Rules [PIL 236 of 2007] Founding member of the Goa Su-Raj Party [2000] Has participated in various social issues such as: IFFI'04. Had filed a Writ Petition in the HC of Bombay at Goa against the Government of Mr. Manohar Parrikar of the BJP for usurping wide powers thro' IFFI ordinance. Appeal was even made to the Supreme Court of India. However, this Petition was withdrawn for reason of non-maintanability of this petition in any High Court since the petition was dealing with Constitutional improprieties and had to find redressal in the Supreme Court only. Lack of funding was the main reason for not challenging the case in the Supreme Court. Has taken part in the agitation resulting from the promulgation of the T&C Planning Ordinance by T&C Minister Shri. Babush Monserrate. Has participated in the agitation resulting from the Freedom Struggle VCD issue. Has participated in the Baina demolition issue and many others such as the Ground water Bill etc, Campal tree cutting, Regional Plan 2011 etc. Has contested Taleigao Assembly By- Elections in 2005 against Babush Monserrate. Reasons. Had reason to believe that Babush Monserrate would get elected unopposed inspite of the BJP candidate Shri. Pradeep Nagvekar being there. His last minute entry in the fray has surely stopped any planned venture by vested interests of not having the elections in Taleigao. His reasons for contesting the Aldona Seat in 2007 Assembly elections: He has always fought against Shri. Dayanand Narvekar's ways of operating. The party fielded a candidate in Aldona Constituency in the 2002 Assembly Elections. Unfortunately the Party was just less than 2 years old, then. This time around, he has taken the task of challenging Shri. Dayanand Narvekar on his home turf. It is difficult to match the electioneering power of money sans money. However the will is solidly there to give credence to the wishes of the majority of the people of Goa who would like to see Shri. Dayanand Narvekar retired from active politics of dividing people for his own personal benefits. The Aldona Constituency has suffered the most in the last decade. Though Aldona boasts of a new modern bridge (Khorjuem), people of Khojuem are still seeking the convenience of the Aldona-Khorjuem ferry. There is also the question of the Calvim Ferry. A bridge is long overdue. In the meantime, a ferry that does not break down most of the time is a must for the people who are solely dependent on this ferry service. Garbage is the universal issue. He is of the belief that the solution lies in the Legislative Assembly and not with the local panchayats and municipalities. A proper infrastructure has to be created to rid not only Aldona, Mapusa, Panjim or Margao of this nuisance of the unwanted garbage but in Goa as a whole. He and my party believe that development of roads, improving water supply, electricity supply, public transport etc is not development at all. It is the basic need of putting the necessary infrastructure in place to make room for development and that too with the tax-money of the people. The real development is JOBS, BETTER HEALTHCARE, BETTER EDUCATION, WELFARE OF THE SENIOR CITIZENS ETC and improving those sensitive areas which will support development such as Noise pollution, law and order, control the flow of drugs etc. If elected, he shall not serve the second term. The party believes that maximum two terms are more than enough for a person to give himself-up for the good of the state. But personally, he feels that one term is what must be the criterion if the detrimental vote-bank politics has to be discouraged and eventually stopped. His election symbol is: TWO CANDLES. The Party is happy to announce that the Goa Su-Raj Party and the United Goan Democratic Party [UGDP] have come together on a tactical alliance of fighting the 2007 Assembly Elections on a common platform. Therefore the people of Goa will be identifying the much loved and hoped for regional symbol of 'TWO LEAVES' with the symbol that stands for an improved, fool-proof system of governance, the 'TWO CANDLES'. to dispel the political darkness that has enveloped Goa from all sides making it literally difficult to breath with ease due to rampant corruption, nepotism and total disrespect for laws, rules and rules, and regulations.
